A well established paint coatings manufacturer in Edenvale is looking for the services of an Area Manager to manage and grow the current retail outlets. The successful incumbent will manage all three stores and will also relieve store managers from time to time.

Requirements:
• Previous retail store management essential.
• A good understanding of retail business
• A business or retail related degree will be advantageous.
• Experience in managing multiple staff or outlets essential
• Strong personality
• Analytic ability
• Entrepreneurial flair (business acumen and turnover driven)
• IT literate
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• High degree of professionalism and conduct at all times.
• Strong interpersonal skills (time managements, assertiveness, and conflict resolution)
• Own vehicle
• Figure and admin orientated
• Organised and thorough
• A excellent leader and business manager
• Profit driven, and an effective cost containment manager
• Excellent customer service orientation
• Proven track record at a management level with a minimum of 5 years retail experience.
• Ability to work random Saturday mornings.

Responsibilities:
• Daily management of the stores and staff.
• Staff planning and training.
• Budgeting
• Recommend, propose, plan, execute and supervise sales and incentive programs with all Stores
• Analyzing sales figures and forecasting to ensure maximization of sales and profit.
• Driving turnover to ensure achievement of targets (sales, turnover and NP)
• Ensure sales and financial targets are met and monitor and achieve budgets in line with company policies
• Controlling expenses
• Manage stock levels and stock losses
• Responsible for execution of in-store stock takes
• Managing, leading and motivating staff
• Executing in-store merchandise strategy and standards
• Store housekeeping through individual store manager.
• Report generation.
• Interaction with Head Office management
• Resolution of ad-hoc customer queries.
• Ensuring good customer service.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by executing our customer service strategy and fulfilling the demands of our customers.
• Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
• Security / asset control
• Relieve individual store manager when necessary.
• Oversee and ensure mechanics of special promotion, displays and events are properly implemented at store level
• Provide periodic feedback on implemented marketing campaigns or strategies in a clear and precise manner.
• Monitor competitor’s activities with immediate feedback and evaluation to direct reports
• Monitor all retail market information and feedback relevant information.
• Customer visits as required
• Potential expansion project management, including site identification, lease negotiation, shop fits, business plans and staff recruitment and training
• Manage all lease extensions in a timely manner
• Develop close relationships with Landlords and key stake holders
• Custodian for store maintenance, store equipment, furniture, fixtures and fittings.
