  1.   JOB PURPOSE:
  • To provide a professional and comprehensive Project Management service to the organisation at all levels and all disciplines.
  • To assist The company with the internal growth and mastery of identified market opportunities for new products and technologies.
  • Organise and manage resources in such a way that projects are completed within defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints.

The incumbent is accountable to senior management for the provision of a comprehensive and professional Project Management service. Project management is the province and responsibility of the individual project manager. The project manager will strive to maintain the progress and productive mutual interaction of various parties in such a way that overall risk of failure is reduced

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Proposal of the Project Management process to Senior Management.
  • Development and implementation of the Project Management process and alignment to the broader organisation processes.
  • Management of all registered Projects under the incumbents direct control from inception to implementation.
  • The incumbent is responsible for facilitating a real understanding of the role that individual and team performance plays in achieving the organisations objectives.
  • Ensure that a high level of system diagnosis and troubleshooting is practised and provided to internal clients using the best project management practises. Ensure adherence to best industrial practices.
  • Determine and implement the exact needs of the customer.
  • Adapt to the various internal procedures
  • Form close links with the nominated project team members
  • Ensure that the key issues of cost, time, quality, and above all, client satisfaction, can be realized.
  • Must envision the entire project from start to finish and ensure that this vision is realized.
  • Will ensure that the project objectives are achieved within the triple constraints scope, time and cost.
  • The incumbent is required to keep abreast of all registered projects in the department and be able to stand in for absent colleagues’ when required.

  • Assist The company in its strategic objectives to develop the capability when introducing new products and technologies into the organisation.
  • To assist The company in improving on the efficiency and effectiveness of repair process.
  • Maintaining managed cooperative project team environments between all participants
  • To ensure that Project Management is conducted within budget constraints and with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • To minimise risk and maximise return on registered projects.
  1. JOB CONTENT
  • The incumbent is responsible for facilitating a real understanding of the role that the Project management department performs in the company and how it assists the company in achieving its objectives.
  •  
  • The incumbent is accountable for the efficient and effective implementation and completion and monitoring of appropriate Projects, systems and procedures.
  • The incumbent will keep abreast of and use relevant project management tools.

 

  • The incumbent is accountable for the following duties:
  • Ensure that projects are documented correctly including project charters, project working papers and reports.
  • Provide assistance to other functions within the company by identifying weaknesses in the processes and correcting accordingly.
  • Planning the work or objectives
  • Analysis & design of objectives and events
  • Assessing and controlling risk (or Risk Management)
  • Estimating resources
  • Allocation of resources
  • Organizing the work
  • Acquiring human and material resources
  • Assigning tasks
  • Directing activities
  • Controlling project execution
  • Tracking and reporting progress
  • Analyzing the results based on the facts achieved
  • Defining the products of the project
  • Forecasting future trends in the project
  • Quality Management
  • Issues management
  • Issue solving including escalation to the relevant parties, in time, of possible problems.
  • Defect prevention
  • Identifying, managing & controlling changes
  • Project closure (and project debrief)
  • Communicating to stakeholders
  • The incumbent will perform any other reasonable tasks required by his/her superior
  1. BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • A 3-year Project Management Diploma/Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • 3 years in the Electronics / Telecommunication Industry. (preferable)
